The Department of Civil Service has updated Policy Bulletin 2023-06. The 2023-2026 collective bargaining agreement between the State of New York and the Public Employees Federation, AFL-CIO (PEF) has been amended to allow PEF employees the ability to utilize up to 30 days of family sick leave in the event of death or illness in the employee’s immediate family in any one calendar year and accumulate up to 225 days of sick leave. The LATS-NY system has been updated to allow this change which was effective July 28, 2023.
