Management / Confidential (M/C) - General Information

M/C membership information is located on the Office of Employee Relations website and information related to the Organization of NYS Management Confidential Employees (OMCE), a not-for-profit statewide membership organization which advocates exclusively for M/C employees, can be found on the OMCE website. 

M/C - Vision and Dental Plan Information

M/C vision and dental plans are paid for by the state or negotiating unit and is free for active employees and their families.

How to Enroll:

To enroll in the vision and dental plan, you must complete a Health Insurance Transaction Form (PS-404) and submit to the BSC.

Vision insurance is provided by Davis Vision with a 28-day waiting period. Dental coverage is provided by Emblem Health with a 28-day waiting period. Coverage begins on the first of the month following 6 full calendar months of continuous employment.

M/C - Life Insurance

M/C Life Insurance is available through MetLife.   Open-enrollment for new M/C employees is 6 pay periods from the position start date.  For detailed plan information, visit the NYS Department of Civil Service's website.

How to Enroll:

Complete and sign the following forms and mail them to the BSC Benefits Unit:  

1. M/C Life Insurance Enrollment Form (PS-934) indicating whether you are enrolling in or declining M/C life insurance.

2. MetLife Group Term Life Insurance Beneficiary Designation Form to designate your beneficiaries. This form must also be returned to the BSC Benefits Unit. 

Civil Service will NOT accept the forms if they are incomplete, difficult to read or contain any cross-outs or white-outs, or if it is not the original signed form.

M/C - Voluntary Defined Contribution Program (VDC)

The VDC is a defined contribution retirement program. Benefits are determined by the amount contributed each year and the success of the investments.

M/C - Income Protection Plan

Income protection plans are designed to provide partial income replacement in the event you become unable to work due to illness or injury. If you began working for the state after January 1, 1986, you are required to participate in IPP.
